How to become a Christian
To become a Christian is as simple as acknowledging you need God in your life, acknowledging you aren't perfect and receiving the free gift of salvation and forgiveness of sins through God's one and only son, Jesus Christ.
The passages below help explain how much God's loves us, why He sent Jesus for us and what we need to do in response to all that God did for us. After the scriptures below, there is an example prayer you can pray. The words themselves aren't magical, but when prayed with sincerity from your heart, it will be life changing.
· John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
· John 14:6 - Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
· Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
· Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
· Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
· Romans 10:9 - That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Example Prayer:
Jesus, today I ask you to come into my life and to forgive me of my sins. I receive You now as my Lord and Savior. Help me Jesus, to live for You and serve You all the days of my life.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
